Sandwich Panel Anchor

The Sandwich panel anchor is suitable for loads from 0.7 up to 22.0 t. The sandwich panel anchor is especially designed for use in precasted sandwich panels. The sandwich panel anchor’s dislocation of the gravity centre makes it possible for the concrete element to be transported and placed in an upright or vertical position. The head of the anchor has a hole in which the locking bolt of the lifting eye is mounted. Other holes in the anchor are meant for further reinforcement.

Description and Components:

  1. Design:
    • A sandwich panel anchor is designed to securely attach sandwich panels to structural elements such as steel frames or concrete walls.
    • It typically includes components that penetrate through the panel layers to ensure a secure and stable connection.
  2. Components:
    • Base Plate: The part of the anchor that attaches to the structural element (e.g., steel or concrete).
    • Fasteners: Bolts, screws, or rivets used to secure the base plate to the structural element.
    • Panel Clips or Hooks: These are elements that engage with the sandwich panel, providing a secure connection without compromising the panel’s integrity.
    • Insulation Fasteners: Sometimes, additional insulation fasteners or clips are used to secure the insulation core of the sandwich panel to the base plate.

Functionality:

  1. Installation:
    • The base plate of the sandwich panel anchor is typically fastened to the structural element (steel frame or concrete wall) using appropriate fasteners.
    • Panel clips or hooks are then inserted through the sandwich panel and engaged with the base plate, securing the panel in place.
  2. Anchoring:
    • Sandwich panel anchors ensure that the panels are securely attached to the building structure, providing structural stability and resistance to wind loads and other forces.
    • They also help maintain the thermal insulation properties of the panels by minimizing thermal bridging.

Applications:

  1. Building Construction:
    • Used extensively in the construction of walls, roofs, and ceilings in industrial buildings, warehouses, cold storage facilities, and commercial structures.
    • Enables efficient and rapid installation of lightweight yet durable building envelopes.
  2. Cold Storage and Controlled Environments:
    • Ideal for applications where thermal insulation and temperature control are critical, such as in cold storage facilities, clean rooms, and food processing plants.
  3. Renovation and Retrofitting:
    • Used in retrofit projects to upgrade building envelopes for improved energy efficiency and thermal performance.

Advantages:

  1. Efficiency:
    • Facilitates quick and straightforward installation of sandwich panels, reducing construction time and labor costs.
  2. Insulation Performance:
    • Minimizes thermal bridging and enhances the overall thermal insulation properties of the building envelope.
  3. Structural Integrity:
    • Provides a strong and stable attachment method, ensuring the panels remain securely in place over the building’s lifespan.
